Never a good thing when you see a supposedly indestructible part lying on the bench...
See it yet?
Not? Let me accentuate it a bit for you...
Couldn't break the sideshaft, so I broke the housing instead...
Never give an Italian something to weld if you want it to stay together...
So, now I'll V it out again and weld it properly on the seam. Then I'll add 4 pieces of 25x5 flat bar between every second set of holes across the weld, and 4 triangular 6mm gussets between every other hole extending them past the weld as well. Let's see if it'll break then...
Actually I think it's the axle tramp that broke it, to be honest...
I do have a nice set of bakkie leaves at home that'll go in now, they still have the load springs at the bottom, that should dial out some more tramp as well. Might need to fit drop blocks though, they do stand a bit higher than the old leaves.
